LG G8 ThinQ Network connectivity issues.
I purchased my LG G8 ThinQ in April 2019, brand new and unlocked from Best Buy. I took it to Boost Mobile, and it has been working fine since then until last Tuesday morning, when I woke up to my LG G8 ThinQ being unable to make/receive calls and text messages, however, I was still able to use my internet service without the need to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Whenever I tried to send a text message, I'd get a "Waiting for connection" message, and when I tried to make a call, I'd get a "Out of service area" and "Mobile network is unavailable" message at the same time, but I still have connection to the internet, and when I check my phone's status, it shows that my service is active and my phone is connected to my network.
I contacted Boost Mobile, and they had me reset my network, as well as uninstall and re-install my SIM card. That didn't work. They told me to contact LG instead, and on Wednesday morning, I did. I was told that this wasn't an issue that LG could help with, to instead contact Boost Mobile (which I already had) and that the only thing LG could do was factory reset my phone; I chose to wait on that. I decided to purchase a new SIM card, to see if that would fix the issue, however, it did not. On Wednesday and Thursday, I went to Boost Mobile to see if they could solve the issue for me. My phone was factory reset, and so was my network. I even upgraded to the new T-Mobile network (since Boost Mobile now is running on both Sprint and T-Mobile), and it still didn't help. My SIM card is a Sprint SIM card compatible with my LG G8 ThinQ and Boost Mobile (SIMOLW516TQ). My phone is running on the newest software and is up to date on all updates. I've made sure to keep Airplane Mode off, and have my mobile data on. I've updated my APN. I've changed my phone number, too. Nothing worked, but then on Friday night, around 10:40 PM (MST), my LG randomly started to work again. I was able to text and make/receive phone calls from that moment up until last night, when I noticed my phone did a "network update" on its own, and this morning, as well as all day today up until this very moment, I have been unable to make/receive calls and send/receive text messages, while still being able to use my own internet (while not connected to Wi-Fi). When I try to send a text or make a call, I get the same messages as before; "waiting for connection," "out of service area," and "mobile network is unavailable," all while being perfectly able to use my internet service. I am basically back at square one, and I am not sure what else to do. I have tried updating and resetting my networks and my phone, as well as a new SIM card, and nothing is working. Boost Mobile has also checked for outages, and has found none. I also for the most part have full signal bars.
If anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
