27 GL850-B Refresh ?
Hello, a month ago i got in amazon a 27gl850-b on amazon germany. the MOnitor was manufactored in August 2020. OnScreen shows me firmware 3.18-2.03 and says the monitor is up to date.
some weeks later i was annoyed by the Back light bleed ( not IPS glow) . Amazon sent me a new 27gl850-b monitor. The new one was manufactored in September 2020. I noticed when i opened the box the back panel had a diffrent logo... the old one had LG logo, the new one have Ultragear Logo...
When i turned the monitor on...i noticed other differences.... the firmware is defintely different but i cant see the number under OnScreen... what i noticed:
if sRGB is chosen: the user can now control brightness AND Contrast...whereas previously it was only Brightness.
The manual color temps is now predefined Warm or COld profiles. ( W1. W2, W3, C1, C2. C3..) Previously it was like 6000K, 6500K, 7000K....
The Display Port Port has now 3 options: 1.1 /1.2/ 1.4. Previously it was Display Port ( enable disable ..only 1.4)
There are the changes i noticed....
unfortunetely the monitor need to go back because of dead/stuck pixel near the middle. i will keep the monitor with the backlight bleed but i would like to have the latest firmware though....
is it possible to get the latest firmware for the 27GL850 prior to septmember 2020 ?
PS: it is a 27GL850-B and NOT 27GN850-B which is similar but without USB

Thanks but no...the latest OnScreen version is 5.3 and it is trelling me the Monitor is up to date with 3.18-2.03.. which is not true...
as i said i got another LG 27GL850-B ( with the Ultragear logo on the backpanel) and it was running 3.01-4.14 and had different options in the OSD...
Hi Christizz,
Did you ever solved this problem?
I also have a 27GL850 that is missing some options and is updated to the last version 3.18-2.03.
Some months later a friend of mine bought the same screen as i did and i saw that he has other options on his screen.
The options i am most interested in is the "Auto Input Switch" as i use a Laptop and PC that i turn on and off all the time. My screen does not automatically switch to the active channel when i turn one of these machines off making me to do this by hand every time.
@LGModerator and @LGModerator1, is there a solution that i can upgrade my screen to the version where i have the "Auto Input Switch" option? I already upgraded to the latest version via OnScreen version 5.71.
Greetings,
Korthab
I'm also looking forward to get an firmware update to have "auto input switch" feature. I have LG 27GL850 with 3.18-2.03 and "OnScreen" application says it is up to date. How to update latets firmware version to get auto input switch feature?
I have the same problem with my LG 27GL850-B. My girlfriend bought the same monitor in december 2020 and she got version with updated logo. We play games together and her version have much better colors display. I tried to use same settings as she have on her monitor but I have much less options for calibration at my panel. I also tried to update my firmware but still I have less options the she have. Did we get worse version of our displays :( ?
Please delete this post I've made accidentally double post. Thank you.
