LG CX with Apple TV challenges (CEC and remote)

Recently setup a new LG CX (OLED77CXPUA). Setup:

Apple TV -> TV via HDMI 1 (use Apple TV for everything, no other inputs to the TV)

TV -> Receiver via HDMI 2 (ARC)

Turning on the Apple TV (ATV), turns on the TV and receiver (via CEC/SIMPLINK). Turning on the LG does not turn on the ATV. Anyone know how to get that working?

ATV remote works for on/off, volume, controlling the ATV (everything I need it to do). Would like to use the magic remote to use more LG/webOS apps directly but I cannot get it to control the ATV (tried many things based on other posts, nothing works so far). How can I enable the LG remote with ATV?

I know about ATV app - getting rid of the ATV box is not an option for my scenarios.

Joe

I just setup our OLED65GXPUA this past weekend. The Magic remote works fine for operation of the AppleTV EXCEPT turning on the AppleTV. I did some testing and searching. I found a sub reddit titled "tvOS 13 Breaks HDMI CEC to turn on the Apple TV 4K" which states it is an AppleTV design/use issue. According to the reddit, which I tested, if you use the back arrow/go back/whatever name you want, the AppleTV will indeed turn on. Not as great as simply selecting the input, but has us back to just one remote.

"I know about ATV app - getting rid of the ATV box is not an option for my scenarios." - I'm thinking the picture quality is way better with the box. The app is ok...but I'll keep the box thank you. 😁

    Anyway....I hope this helps.
