When is Discovery Plus going to be made available in the App Store? I shouldn’t have to go buy a streaming device when I already have a smart tv.
There is not an ETA as to when the Discovery Plus app will be available in the LG Content Store. We are working to add support for Discovery Plus along with other high demand apps for our customers.
I just purchased two LG 43" tvs for our bedrooms and just discovered Discovery+ has no app for the webOS. I could not be more disappointed as a customer. What is the point of a smart tv that doesn't support some of the most popular apps available? I thought LG was at the top.of their game and bought the brand because I thought the webOS was one of the best smart tv platforms on the market...obviously I was wrong. I will be looking into returning both tvs for a brand that supports Discovery+ and HBO Max. I could not be more disappointed in the LG brand and will never buy this brand again...clearly they don't care about what their customers want...people have been complaining in this forum about lack of support for the Discovery+ app for 3 months!

I agree with the previous comments. I could not be more disappointed in LG. I too just purchased a new LG TV believing that I was purchasing something top of the line. Yet, after finding out that LG can’t even support Discovery Plus, LG seems to be lagging behind the competition. It’s embarrassing really. I would be happy with the TV itself, but it’s incredibly frustrating that I have to buy a Roku to make my brand new LG “Smart TV” do something it really should do on it’s own. Not even an ETA on this, LG? Really??
I bought three LG smart TVs in 2020. All of which use webOS, a Linux kernel-based operating system. As I'm sure you are aware of.........Apparently some of the newer apps that were recently developed (Discovery+ and HBO/MAX) are only made for Android platforms. Which forces me to buy and utilize additional devices in order to take advantage of my subscriptions. Don't want to have to purchase these additional devices for all three of my TVs. Do you by chance know of a timeframe where we can expect compatible apps for our TVs?
I will never buy or recommend an LG TV again until it has an App eco system equal to Samsung or Android OS TVs.
It is such a shame. LG has been my go to TV brand since they released the webOS smart TV sets. LG's mid to lower end TVs have a better picture than Samsung. But like smartphones the App store is king. That killed Microsoft's mobile OS and Phones. Why did we think than LG and WebOS would be different!
What a bummer! You buy a smart TV expecting it to function with the most popular apps without having to buy additional hardware. With so many apps I have never even heard of flooding the store you v would think LG would spend some time on the ones people actually use. I must admit I regret not waiting a week to actually get the tv I wanted. I now know not to settle for LG Tv's. Since the day I purchased I have felt I made the wrong choice and this issue is one more thing to add to that regret.
Hope this is fixed soon before my trial runs out or both Discocery+ and LG have lost my dollar.
It's a shame that LG doesn't listen to the market or their customers when it comes to supporting the MAINSTREAM apps out there that people want - instead of obscure "free" no-name apps that aren't popular. With LG getting out of the cell phone business and their lack of keeping up with the times (and pleasing their customer base), it's sad but they have lost me and my family as a customer thanks to this oversight on their part. Might as well get out of the technology business all together and let other companies (who listen to their customers) continue to take the spotlight (and LG's userbase). I have been waiting since Discovery Plus was announced to hear ANYTHING from LG - but their silence is coming through loud and clear.
OH MY GOD! WOULD YOU HURRY THE HELL UP AND GET DISCOVERY+ ON HERE! Along with HBO/Max and Locast. You should Not be lagging behind any company or product. You're a technology company, why is this so hard?? This is ridiculous! Every LG customer is severely disappointed in your lack of leadership and whoever is responsible for this embarrassment to your company should be fired. Get with the program and take care of those that have supported your company.
