Hi, I just purchased a Smart washer dryer. However, I cannot get them to connect to the app to get them registered. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled, I’ve checked all my WiFi settings. There isn’t a reason for them not to connect but they just wont
My SmartthinQ app stopped having the refrigerator show up in my list of connections after 5 months. I did everything to do and as far as delete - reinstall - reboot router - etc. When I talked to customer service I asked if others had this problem and she said very few - she ought to read the internet!! I am now waiting for a response from LG - if they would just admit there is a problem - this started after the latest update on my iPhone. I am disappointed in this product as this is one of the reasons I bought this LG refrigerator.
Hi! I have an LG washer and dryer that are connected to my smart home and working just fine with google home and what not. I'm getting notifications and emails from them. I set them up initially through the Smart ThinQ app, My washer even orders it's own Tide Pods. When trying to access the SmartThinq app, it's telling me that I have no devices... yet all the setup I did through the app is working fine? Something it's up with the app. It tells me to add an appliance, hitting any of the UI icons in the upper right does nothing. I'm stuck on the home screen of the app. I've shutdown the app completely, shut down the phone completely, no luck. Whats up?
Purchased a 50" UM7300PUA because it was advertised as being Alexa compatible. Went through the setup on the TV and phone (really need two apps, basic and complete?). Alexa can turn tv on and off, and change the volume, but will not change channels. Alexa responds "that command does not work on device tv," the tv briefly displays a message saying it is tuning to the channel, but then it displays a set of possible channels on the bottom of the display on the tv to select from, but won't actually change the channel. What am I missing?
Hi. I have an OLED65C9AUA running WebOS 4.6.0-22-2. I am trying to log into my LG SmartThinQ Account but it hangs on this screen and does not progress past it. I'm trying to link the TV to Alexa so I can issue commands to it like "turn the TV off" but I need to have it registered with SmartThinQ in order to do so. Can you please help? Thanks.
I have an LG account under artworksmetal.com . But I downloaded the Android app and it would not recognize
me, even if I tried to reset the password. So then I foolishly signed in
with Google. Now there are 2 accounts with 1 email address - one on the
web and one in the app. It seems to me that it should not have let me do that.
I have 5 new LG appliances and 2 phones. I'd
really like to get this straight and register them under 1 account.
I sent an email to LG through the website. "An LG Service Center representative will reply within 24 hours" it says. I got a response from a robot, not a representative. It directed me to send my request to lg@ownercentersupport.com.
So I did. Another robot directed me back to the support website.
I'm beginning to regret filling my house with LG appliances.
The instructions in the manual for connecting to the appliance network and entering the proper password is unclear. I tried connecting a new LG washer and dryer and couldn't find anything that solved my issue in LG's support system. I finally found a YouTube video that explains that the password is in the name of the appliance network that shows up and that you have to switch to your phone's (or other mobile device's wifi connection setting window) to identify the name of the appliance's network. A 4-digit code is part of the name of the appliance network and you use that code twice as a password. So the two things that are confusing is 1) you have to switch to your phone's wifi setting and select the appliance's network, and 2) that the password is in the name of that network and you repeat the 4 character code as the password. Here is a link to the video that helped me to solve this issue: Hope this is helpful. LG Support might consider using this video or creating a link to it.
I can't seem to connect to my LG ThinQ dryer DLG7201WE. There seems to be an issue related to my iPhone 7 OS 12.1.14. Specifically the ThinQ app only connects when the phone is in 4G (LTE Verzion). I get half way though the process of registering and connecting then the phone switches from the dryer WiFi back to my home WiFi the phone drops to 3G and the connection to the app and dryer are lost. None of the other 8 or 10 smart devices in my home have this issue during setup or updating.
Also why can't I use my iPad to connect to the dryer? I keep getting "server connection not found" similar to my phone when it is in 3G and it fails to connect.
Can I adhoc connect to the dryer and scroll a diagnostics page or something and manually setup the network connection that way?
Hello im trying to connect my dishwasher (LDT5678ST) to the Smarthinq app, but when i open the app it crashes immediatley. I noticed when i turn off the wifi on my phone it works but as soon as i turn wifi on the app crashes.
I have had an LG WiFi connected washer, dryer and refrigerator for about a month. All connected to WiFi right away. Washer disconnected a week ago for some reason and now I can’t get it reconnected to WiFi.
Have gone through the set up steps multiple times, have unplugged the washer and retried, have deleted the app and retried, have deleted the washer in the app and retried, have removed 5G wireless option and retried, have rebooted the router and retried, nothing works. Every time I get the error “Incorrect password entered or router configuration problem. Re-enter your password or check your router setup, and try again.”
The password example is abc9. If I enter that twice it connects to the WiFi for the washer and I get a notification from SmartThinq that it has been connected and it asks to go back to the app. Once back to the app, it thinks for a little while and then I get that error. If I enter the password any differently I get the incorrect password notice in the Settings of my phone.
I can skip past the error and it asks to join my home WiFi network which I join through the app and it connects. It goes through the registration process 1-100% just fine but then it says washer is not connected.
I’m at a loss for what else to do. Is there anyway to completely reset the washing machine to factory defaults?
I have a Samsung s9 phone . The app downloads and installs and as soon as it pops up the screen to log in , it closes out . What can be the issue . It’s the latest software on phone and app ?
@Jefbal99 We have done some additional testing and your unit should be able to connect to your SSID even with the "_" character. Based on information we received from our developers, it does appear that using the BETA OS could possibly be causing the connection failure. Do you have a phone there using a currently released android build that you can use to connect your Smart Appliance with? Please try doing that and let us know if you are still experiencing the connection difficulty.
I was able to connect to and setup our LG appliance to my phone (Samsung Note 9). Now - how do I add my wife's phone so that she can also seen and control the LG appliance? (Window AC). Thank you for your assistance.
Is a hyphen "-" considered a special character in the network name? I don't see it on the list above, but I'm consistently having problems.
My LW1017ERSM air conditioner appears to connect to the network (at least some of the time) and goes through the 1-100% count (some of the time). The furthest I've gotten is reaching a "Product Registration" error - "Product not registered. Please try again." My product is registered, as verified on https://www.lg.com/us/support/mylg/my-products, if that is the kind of registration it means. It is my only LG smart product so there are no other products on my app.
I am using an iPhone, up to date and with an Smart ThinQ downloaded today. I've tried various iterations of unplugging, different modes (or power off) while trying to connect, deleting and re-downloading the app, restarting settings, etc. I've also turned off the 5G network to force it to use the slower 2.5. The router is perhaps 6ft from the AC and I've elevated it in case there was a line-of-sight issue.
At one point I was no longer able to log in to the appliance's network but that seemed to resolve after unplugging the unit for about ten minutes.
One thing I've noticed is that the wifi light turns off while the 1-100% countdown is happening. I've tried to complete all the steps as fast as possible thinking perhaps it had a very short timeout, but I still can't log on.
@jrgandy007 how is it that LG can use underscores in their own SSID, but not support in end user SSID?!?!
I have 50+ devices that utilize my home network, I'm expected to rename my network and modify every device due to poor programming on LGs party?!?! Also, no other device in my network has any issue with an underscore in the SSID.
This is a major oversight and should be a top development effort to resolve. Calling an underscore a non-English character is nuts. I work in IT and DevOps and this doesn't pass the smell test.
I hope to see the fixed ASAP, if not, LG goes to the bottom of my list for any purchases.
AussieMikeL thank you for your post. I'd like to look into the issue a bit further to see what may be causing the problem. What's the model number of your refrigerator?
@jefbal99 the connection
issue is likely the result of the special character in your Wi-Fi SSID. I
apologize for that inconvenience but in order to connect you would need to ensure
the Wi-Fi network name does not contain Non-English or special
characters e.g "[!@#$%^&*()_+?}{|\]".
Spragooo
thank you for your post. The credentials you used for your myLG account on
LG.com are different than those you would use for the Smart ThinQ app. If you’ve
never logged in before, try to create a completely new account, or log in via
Google, Facebook, or Amazon. If you’re still having trouble creating an account,
provide us with more detail about any error message you see and we’ll be glad
to look into it further.
Libertas If you're using an apple phone to connect, be sure you use the last 4 characters of the temporary network that the refrigerator creates as the password to access that network. For example, if you see LG_Smart_Refrigerator_E01C your password would be E01CE01C.
Just bought LTG4715BM and the app/range never connect. I let both devices sit until one or the other times out.
I'm 8 ft from the wireless router.
My SSID has an underscore in it, however, the SSID that the range is broadcasting for connection does too. LG can't expect someone with a fully integrated smart home to change their network name, WiFi isn't a new technology.
I really hope it's an issue with the Android Q beta that I'm running.
I tried to install the Smart ThinQ app on my tablet, however, it is listed as incompatible.
Thoughts or suggestions on getting this connected?
One note, I can connect to the ovens SSID using the last four of the SSID twice, I tried that in the apps connection mode with no luck.
Just installed my new LG fridge - and it is connected fine to my iPhone SmartThinQ app. I activated the SmartThinQ skill on Alexa and connected the accounts fine. But Alexa discover devices never finds the fridge and thus no commands work on Alexa. Has anyone ever got Alexa to connect to an LG fridge?
Just trying to create a Thinq account via my phone app. Getting error message saying id/password incorrect. I am able to login to MyAccount on the LG website, so I know the id/pw are correct and working. I've tried logging in w/ Google, creating new account, etc. I am unable to create account or login via the mobile app. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I know there is not a built-in mic in the TV for
voice control, and that there is a mic in the remote for that. But I want to know, if I have an Amazon Alexa Echo Dot, will I then be able to control this TV hands
free?
