Why is inside LG washer warm after cycle ends using TAP COLD setting?
Purchased (5/23/2021) my first front-loading LG washer (model: WM4000HBA). When the NORMAL cycle with water temperature option set to TAP COLD is finished, the drum walls and clothing are warm and not cold as they should be when using tap cold water setting. The temperature is warm when touching, not hot. The rear drum wall feels warmer than the side walls.
Cycle – Normal
Temp – Tap Cold
Spin – Extra High
Soil – Normal
Turbo Wash light is on (default setting).
The hoses are correctly connected to the hot and cold faucets. I felt both faucets after the washer cycle ended, and they were not warm indicating no hot water is going into the washer. Note that the LG washer is a replacement for a front-loading Maytag washer that did not have this type of problem.
There is concern that the warming of the clothing will cause some to shrink. Is this type of warming typical for an LG washer and is it due to the heating of the motor/drum components when spinning?
