Instant Game Response Mode problems.
This is not really a question but a rant. Don't know where else to post it but hopefully someone that can affect change sees it.
The instant game response feature is garbage. My LG 49" NANO85 i got a few months ago is probably the worst TV i've ever hooked up to my PC (user experience wise).
My last TV was a Samsung. It had a game mode. I turned it on for that specific HDMI port and it was always on. Simple. Effective. Transparent.
The LG instant game response mode's auto switching is so annoying, it can kick off and back on (with the message pop-up) randomly while i'm in the middle of playing a game. It happens quite a bit.
Then if i happen to have my desktop at 4k, and i need to alt-tab out of a game i might happen to be playing at 1440p. Yup there goes the game response kicking off and on again, except with a 50% chance the TV completely bugs out and i have to power it off and back on again to even see anything.
Dont even get me started on just trying to change desktop resolutions. I change the resolution, and instant game response kicks off and back on. Then when i choose yes to keep these settings, it kicks off and back on again. Then when i check to make sure the new resolution is correctly set at 120hz, but it's instead at 60hz... I gotta sit through the game response flicker and messages again when i change the refresh rate. Only problem is that when i go to apply the refresh rate change.. Instant game response kicks off and back on again, and what do you know, the refresh rate is back down to 60hz. It usually takes 2-3 tries of this nonsense for 120hz to finally apply correctly.
In the future LG, just make it a mode you turn on and leave it alone. This constant automatic switching is garbage.
