How can one do a firmware downgrade?

I have an LG BP40NB30 very little used. Couple years ago I've made a firmware upgrade and used the device few times. Today I found that the device is disconnecting itself from the computer and reconnecting, doing this continuously. The device is using a cable with 2 USB ports, because of the current needed, 1.6 Amps. Using a simple cable the device is stable in the computer, is not disconnecting, but I'm sure I can't use it as such.

Because of this behavior I would like to make a firmware downgrade, or at least to re-write the firmware, because before the upgrade the device worked with no problems.

Problem is that the firmware upgrade software doesn't allow re-write, nor downgrade.

Is there any command-line parameters to modify the defaults? Thanks!
