My C9 with firmware 03.60.04 is causing a lot of artifacts if I enable the TruMotion De-Judder option.
It seems the current implementation does have some pretty severe issues with some content.
It doesn't matter which level of De-Judder I use, even a value of "1" causes some really nasty artifacts.

Watch this video which shows the right border of the "Spears & Munsil Test Video":

You're supposed to see a straight non-moving line but instead the border shows a lot of artifacts.
Everything looks perfect when I disable TruMotion.

If you own a C9/E9 check it yourself, my recording doesn't even capture how bad it actually looks when you watch the video. You will be able to see these kind of artifacts in "real" 24p content all the time!

I really hope LG is gonna fix this since all you can do for now is disable the De-Judder option which of course means you have to live with the stutter caused by 24p content.

chirdpanda, is the stutter only happening on 24p content or is it apparent on content at 30Hz or 60Hz as well?

Assuming you're talking about the unavoidable 24p stutter with TruMotion disabled then yes - it is mainly happening on 24p content. 60Hz content is of course fine, I hardly have any 30Hz content so I can't say much about that.

Hence why I enabled TruMotion and de-judder to compensate the stutter on 24p content - but I ended up having a lot of artifacts which sometimes makes things a lot worse.

So there wasn't artifacting prior to the 03.60.04 update with 24fps content?

I don't think the new version has changed anything regarding TruMotion, I was able to notice quite some artifacts in standard content prior to 03.60.04 as well.

However, I can't tell if the specific "Spears & Munsil Test Video" did look that bad before as well since I have only tested it with the current version.

No change in 03.60.05, still a lot of nasty artifacts when TruMotion de-judder is activated.
@JamalofLG have you checked the video showing the artifacts yet?

Yes I have. I've escalated it up for further evaluation by Engineering.

@JamalofLG Just to let you know: 03.60.06 didn't fix this problem.

Have you heard anything from Engineering yet?

Hopefully we can get an update regarding TruMotion. The artifacts are annoying, but I'm having a bigger problem with TruMotion causing what looks like frame skipping and/or speed changes in motion in complicated scenes. This is mostly in 60fps content, especially sports. For example, when lots of players on a soccer pitch are walking slowly before a free kick or corner kick, the players will start to stutter. It's like TruMotion thinks the slow motion is indicating low framerate content and DeBlur disables and DeJudder enables momentarily before switching back. I also noticed it during football snaps and the receivers would start to stutter when beginning to run and then motion goes back to being smooth when the receivers are in full stride. Looks very bad!

Any update, since this is an issue on all 2019 TVs.
A bit better on the c8 from 2018, but about the same as on the b7 from 2017.

Would be awesome to get them all on the same level as the c8 or better

Hey! I'm a new LG C9 owner from India. The software version is 03.60.19, and it's still a problem. Any setting above 0 on de-judder causes motion artifacts. While I haven't see tests, I have spotted it in real content. Some shots of the skydiving scene from Kingsman; The Secret Service have this issue; mostly overhead, wide shots of the falling divers. The software seems to misjudge their motion and artificial divers plop up here and there on the screen.

Helicopter scenes from various movies cause issues when shots of blades comes against a high white white ground. Looks quite ugly and squiggly. De-judder 1 is no better than 3 or 4. Had really hoped for better. Just wanted slightly smoother motion as without Trumotion, I get headaches because of 24fps stutter of OLED panels, but these artifacts ruin the movies in which they happen. Please correct this!!

@JamalofLG any updates? I´m holding on my B7 in the living room, and the C8 in the bedroom. Not saying the C8 is perfect but alot better than the B7 and after what iv´e seen on the showroom floor the C9 is about the same as the B7.

And i need the de-judder on 2-3 to watch 24p, or else stutter will be the death of me.
