I purchased an LG dishwasher recently (model LDP6797). After about 5 cycles we got the 0E error code and the dishwasher wouldn't drain. A service request was put in and the tech who arrived claimed that our drain line was clogged. As proof, he used a ShopVac on the drain line and showed us a soggy corn flake and claimed that it was what clogged the line.

Accordingly to the tech, we need to thoroughly pre-rinse the dishes before running them through the dishwasher. This despite the instruction manual explicitly saying to NOT pre-rinse your dishes. Erring on the side of caution, we thoroughly pre-rinsed our dishes, ran a cycle and got the 0E code again and the dishwasher still won't drain.

Is this really how this dishwasher is supposed to work? Do the screen and filter do absolutely nothing? Is there no chopper in the drain system to break down food waste? Are we really supposed to pre-rinse our dishes? Is the drain pump really so weak that it can't push a soggy corn flake through the drain line?

We had our previous dishwasher (not LG) for almost 10 years and never had a single issue with it draining.
