I tried to setup universal control of my Pioneer VSX-329 home theater sound system using the device connector app and LG instructions provided here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000018-20150539692863
Selected all the available Pioneer Home Theater and Sound Bar Remote Types (Home Theater: Remote Type 1, Remote Type 2, or Remote Type 3) and all those listed under Pioneer Sound Bar in the device connector app, but none were able to power on/off or adjust the volume on the home theater receiver (connected using Optical cable).
The help article at https://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000018-20150539692863 mentions the following: "One of the remote types should control your external device correctly.  If not, you will need to contact your device manufacturer to provide us their configuration code for your device".

Pioneer has provided the following IR and Hex configuration codes for the VSX-329 Audio Video Receiver: https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Support/Home-Entertainment-Custom-Install/IR+Codes/A+V+Receivers

How can these codes be added so my Magic Remote can control the power and volume functions of my Pioneer VSX-521 audio video receiver?

Thanks in advance.

dorsegal,  It looks like you really did your research and we are more than happy to assist you more on the universal remote setup that you are working on, but in terms of you asking how to add codes on your LG remote control that’s not even possible to begin with. What we can recommend is for you to try doing the same steps you did but change the type of connection if possible e.g HDMI just to see if it’s really a matter of compatibility because not all of the manufacturer models work on our LG TVs even if the manufacturers were listed.
