I have had an LG Super Multi Blue Player Recorder
for  5+ years and it has been nearly flawless for all types of discs
BUT . one big problem.. It appears to go into a sleep mode where it becomes invisible to the system .. wont respond t door open button or any os commands. doesn't show in file explorer.
Reboot doesn't help. To recover, it is necessary to shut down and remove all power... Pull AC plug.
When power is restored(plug in AC) and push PC power on button, it comes to life. Busy light flashes and door will open from button push.
Has anyone seen this? whats going on? How to Fix?

Sleep mode is when you leave a disc in the drive for longer than two minutes and the drive literally goes into sleep mode. There is an easy work around, simply press the eject button, a couple times if  you have to and the tray will  open. Close the tray again and start your write, read, whatever it is you're doing within that two minutes and you'll be fine. Make sense?
