While washing a load of lingerie, the glass on the front loading door of the washer imploded.  We purchased this washing machine in December 2016 so the 1-year warranty had expired, however, we purchased a 5-year extended warranty through Nebraska Furniture Mart when we purchased the machine.  We were told to contact the extended warranty company, Assurant, for repair. They set up a service call with Premier Appliance.  The repair tech reported that it was misuse/abuse of the machine, but it was not.  He just said "it's not under warranty."  Misuse of the machine was not the case!  The warranty company will not repair the machine because of his report.  LG will not warrant it either.  Nebraska can do nothing to help.  I can only conclude that the glass must have been defective because this appliance has never been abused or misused.  There was nothing in the clothing that could have hit the glass during the cycle.  So after 2 1/2 weeks with many phone calls, nothing was done by LG, the warranty company, or Nebraska.  We have resorted to ordering a new door assembly and replacing it ourselves.  This $1000+ machine is worthless and so are the warranties!  I will never buy another LG appliance again.  Our LG refrigerator is also a lemon - 3 repairs the first month we had it!  Shame on LG for not caring about their customer's safety or satisfaction.

I have 2 LG washers, F2721HTWV, whose doors took turns to form a perfect crack on the inside of the window outside. Attached as the pics and for the first washer, they kept insisting it’s our wrongdoing by banging into it. But how do you even bang a perfect smooth crack on the windows with no scuffles and on BOTH MACHINES? Attaching pics.

We purchased a model WM3270CW Front Loader washer from Best Buy on 06/25/18. This machine was only used very carefully in our home. After washing a small load of pillow cases and face cloths I removed them and dried them in the dryer. About two hours later, on 8/30/19, we were sitting in another room of our condo and heard a loud crash. I walked around trying to find the location of the noise. It had come from the washer. The glass on the door had imploded into the machine tub. The door was ajar for air circulation so some of the shards also were on the floor of the laundry room. About an hour later there was another loud sound. This time the outer edges of the part of the door that had landed into the tub exploded off.

After various calls to LG and lots of conversations to try to get rid of me, I was told that they were referring this problem to their "safety department". They kept promising return calls within 24 to 48 hours but they never came. I finally was given a case number and was connected to their Escalation Team Department. This last conversation resulted in a visit from a technician from A&E Factory services on Sept. 10. He informed us that there is no record at LG of a door ever imploding. He said that LG believes we hit the door or caused the problem ourselves. We did not hit the door. No one in our home hit the door and there is no way that we caused the problem.

We are fortunate that there was no one in the room to be injured by the flying glass when the door imploded. I believe this machine needs to be recalled. There is a serious safety issue here that LG is not willing to recognize. I am attaching a photo of the broken door inside the washer tub.
Here is a picture of the door where the glass broke off:

Thank you for reading this. As you can see I am very upset. LG is really just trying to get rid of me and my complaint.

Same thing just happened to me. Look online. There are many such reports. I sent a report to consumer reports so they can make people aware of the problem. Uneven load issues created a recall for some models but I suspect the problem is bigger. My call to lg support claims no knowledge of such issue.
