My oled TV C8 yesterday lost the channel information. Guide shows no information for all channels when guide is pulled up using the magic remote. Comcast cable box is working just fine and showing the guide using comcast remote. I called LG and they gave me no solution other than use the comcast remote for the guide. Unbelievable for “the next generation of smart TV’s” Very disappointed now with LG.
It seems the functionality of
the remote accessing the guide is working, especially since it is loading the channels,
time, and displaying “no information”. At this point the data is coming from
the provider (not the remote or LG). Perhaps the cable box recently had an
update that may be affecting information pass through to connected/paired
devices.
The only things we can check is for a software update,
I had the same problem with my OLED E8, back around the same time, but I am getting my video through antenna. It is not a cable company problem, it is an LG software problem. LG tech support said to reset to initial settings. That did fix the problem, but it only fixed it until the next time I turned it on (it likely did an update each time). Resetting the TV and then setting it all back up for my preferences once a day got to be very annoying. After several days it fixed itself, likely through another update. What I hate is that it keeps occasionally doing this, and is once again yesterday it started not showing me any information in the guide. Why do you keep screwing up the guide with your updates? Like the original poster said, this is very disappointing for a the latest generation in "smart" TVs.
I have a problem with the local OTA channels on my new OLED 65 being shown as one hour too early. When I scroll through the listings the current show is hidden on the left of the schedule and you can't see it.
I have a 65 e9 that has this same issue. Strange thing is it worked for a few days once I first brought it home. Also I can get guide information but I need to go to the AD/SAP button then select guide. If I select the guide button or the list button then I get No Information. Seems to be more a TV Software bug then cable issue. Having spent 2k+ for this TV I would not have expected this. Never had these types of issues with my Samsung TV's.
OLED 65C9 channel guide displays “No Information” when using DISH receiver as the source. The guide had information the first two days after installation but now nothing! I tried resetting time and time zone as others recommended but that did nothing! Please help fix this LG!
I have a C8 for a year now and it STILL has that recurring problem of 'no information available' quite often. The only solution that has worked for me is unplugging the TV for 30 seconds and plugging it back it. This brings back the guide information but eventually loses it again after a while. It definitely has to be a software issue with LG.
LG please fix this, this is unacceptable as others have stated!!!
My LG C9 is 3 days old, and I just lost the channel "info" also. I can bring up the Directv info/lineup using ad/sap. LG please fix this, as it seems to be a common problem and is VERY irritating.
Our LG C8 has been having this issue for months - I checked for available TV updates (there weren’t any), so I finally tried the suggestion to unplug the set for 30 seconds, and now it is working. LG - please resolve this issue with Xfinity, and provide a permanent solution.
I have tried all of the above suggestions and they only worked temporarily. In fact they all seem to stop working at some point. The fact that I don’t get a TV menu is a dealbreaker when it comes to deciding on what TV I will buy next. I don’t think I’ll buy an LG and less they fix this problem.
This seems to be a common problem. Come on LG - you can fixt this!
Mine does the same thing. Power down has no effect but unplugging brings the program guide back, but only temporarily. Note that this is the case with my Dish network channel AND over the air channels. So this is definetley not a provider problem. I am with JCatlanta - if this is not fixed soon, I won't buy another LG.
I am not sure but I believe this started happening at the same time when the functions of the "Home" button on the remote were flip-flopped with the functions of "Connections" button - which is another worrysome curiosity.
Sorry folks, just like everything LG (I've had appliance problems as well) there will be no fixes or even acknowledgements that there is a problem. I will never purchase another LG product because of their consumer indifference.
You know what it is... the user agreements. Whenever they update the 5000 pages of legal agreements, which is quite often, it disables a lot of functionality. (Agree to let us sell your whole life or no soup for you!)(LG legal nazis)(aka their in house Lawyers / legal team without enough to do and so they have to justify their sad existence)
So... you must go into the general settings, about this TV, user agreements and uncheck and then recheck yes you may sell my soul boxes. Agree to everything.
Then just use a pi hole to block all the ads and trackers and Nelson data mining on the network level leaving just what you want.
OR just get an AppleTV which doesn’t make you agree to sell your soul to be able to use your tv. Just wait until the next version coming soon
(spent three hours digging around menus trying different things and monitoring network traffic With packet sniffers to figure this out. LG get better programmers and shove the user agreements) (Or maybe all my next oleds will be Sonys) (I’m starting to get vertical banding on my newish C9 anyway)
It just never stops. Issue after issue with my LG TV that I've owned for less than a year. Connection issues with components, interacting with supposedly attached devices, feature after feature that was used to sell this subpar television. I have been on chat after chat of hopeful customers just begging for a little bit a response from LG to address our issues. We all want to be happy customers, but Time After Time LG makes that next to Impossible. As it stands now, I will be like many other customers that are all over this LG community and state that I will never buy an LG product again.
Does anyone have a new idea about how to get program information on the LG guide? We will never buy another LG product either....if this is not corrected.
What a total misrepresentation of a “smart” TV..... so far. And from what I’m reading, it’s not likely to ever have a solution.

You need to set the time from manual to automatic (or at least set the time zone).
