Inferior LG Refrigerator - I have a two year old fridge and has been serviced 7 times in the last 4 months and still my fridge is not working.  Another service call scheduled for 7/26.  Really?????

      WOW! Not good at all!! I have a 22 month LG refrigerator and it stopped cooling 3 days ago. A tech came out 2 days ago and diagnosed a bad compressor! A bad compressor after 22 months is USUALLY rare, but after doing some research I found out that LG compressors ARE A WEAK LINK with their refrigerators! So, I have to wait for 3 more days for a new compressor to arrive. I only "hope" after hearing your story that the compressor does arrive(UPS)on time, is good, and solves the problem! Even if it does I will not be able to relax knowing that LG compressors are basically junk. So I guess I'll expect the replacement compressor to only last 20-24 months before going through this hassle yet again!!! This will be my first and LAST LG appliance. Hey LG, it's too bad you DROPPED THE BALL(or should I say compressor)regarding putting out a quality refrigerator! Word does spread!!

  • Hi everyone - look what i have found on someones post.  Please read.  

    I bought an LG refrigerator from Sears in May 2015. In June 2019, my freezer stopped making ice. Long story short: an LG technician diagnosed the problem as a compressor/sealed system failure. LG agreed to a "courtesy repair" but after three visits the LG technician submitted a report to the company declaring the unit unrepairable. Since then, the company has delayed and deflected and made follow up and follow through extremely difficult. I cannot reach a service manager on the phone. I am not sure whether I will be compensated for my losses. I know there is a class-action lawsuit against LG on this very issue. I may well end up joining it. There is no reason why a four-year-old perfectly maintained refrigerator should fail after four years. It should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
